TruckPro Richmond, VA
Over 2018-9, Tessera performed a sale-renovation-lease back of an existing TruckPro service location in Richmond, Virginia. The property is situated in a prominent position on a major thoroughfare in the bustling Manchester neighborhood. It comprises four inter-connected buildings, totaling over 40,000 sf on 2.09 acres. The renovation, that included reconfiguration of major portions of the space, enabled TruckPro, the tenant, to consolidate its separate retail and wholesale heavy-duty truck parts distribution facility into its existing maintenance and repair location. TruckPro continued to operate out of the premises throughout the 9-month renovation.
Tessera managed all aspects of the renovation process, which included: demolition of one building in disrepair, installation of new roof and drainage system, removal of an underground storage tank, repaving, masonry and structural repair, construction of a new loading dock, installation of a modern electrical system including LED lighting, HVAC upgrades, installation of new overhead doors, renovation of storefront and back offices, interior and exterior painting, and a host of other improvements.
Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, TruckPro is the nation’s largest independent distributor of heavy-duty aftermarket truck and trailer products and advanced repair services, with over 150 retail locations and 11 distribution centers in 32 states and Canada. The firm was founded in Memphis, Tennessee in 1958 as a small heavy-duty truck parts shop. TruckPro was a subsidiary of AutoZone, Inc. between 1998 and 2001.
