Andy Stone

Principal

Andy is a founding member and Principal of Tessera Development, LLC. He is a registered Professional Engineer and has diverse experience in real estate and private equity.

Andy also serves as a Partner at Black Creek Chattanooga, his family’s residential and golf course community. He is responsible for vision and direction for the organization, including the design and execution of the phases of the community. Most recently, Black Creek opened its mountain phase, which includes a $15 million public road constructed with Chattanooga’s first TIF.

Prior to his current roles, Andy was a co-founder of Priam Capital, a boutique private equity real estate firm, as well as his own engineering consulting company. In his tenure with Priam, Andy acquired over $100 million in real estate and developed an additional 50,000 square feet of mixed-use office and retail space including The Warehouse at 6th and Taylor in Nashville, and HopCat Louisville.

Andy holds a Bachelors of Engineering from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Engineering from Cornell University.

 

Ben Sensing

Principal

Ben is a founding member and Principal of Tessera Development, LLC. His background is in general management and law in real estate, distribution and construction materials industries.

Concurrently, Ben is Principal of Sensing Ventures, which manages an industrial real estate portfolio. He also serves as non-executive chairman of FormTech, Inc., a private equity owned, concrete forming and shoring distributor headquartered in Michigan with 8 locations in 5 states. Ben also serves on the board and executive committee of Linden Street Capital Corporation that owns two companies, FFC Services, Inc. and Floats and Fuel Cells, Inc., in the aerospace service and parts manufacturing industries.

Formerly, he served on the board of directors and as Executive VP of ENCO Materials, Inc., where he co-led the third generation family-owned, construction materials business with 8 locations and 250 employees, and coordinated the investment banking process that resulted in the sale of ENCO to multinational strategic buyer, Gerdau (NYSE: GGB). Prior to joining ENCO, he was an attorney with Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, PLLC where his practice focused on complex commercial real estate transactions and land use issues.

Ben is licensed to practice law in Tennessee. He has a law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law and a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate from Southern Methodist University.

Jed Turner

Principal

Jed is a founding member and Principal of Tessera Development, LLC. His background is in general management and finance in the real estate, investment, distribution and investment banking industries.

Most recently, he served as manager and principal of Sanders Family Office, LLC, overseeing the investment management of family assets. Jed previously served on the board of directors and was VP of finance and business development for Jimmy Sanders Inc., where he managed mergers and acquisitions, real estate and construction, and strategic planning for the $800 million agricultural distribution company until its sale to Apollo Management.

Prior to his role at Sanders, Jed worked in mergers and acquisitions with the investment bank, Stephens Inc., in Little Rock, AR, and in the finance department of Newsprint South, Inc., a paper manufacturing company in Jackson, MS.

Jed is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BBA from Millsaps College.

Walton Denton

Principal

Walton is a founding member and Principal of Tessera Development, LLC. His background is in general management, investment banking and corporate law.

Prior to Tessera, Walton was a manager of Jimmy Sanders Inc., a third generation family-owned farm supply and distribution business with over 100 locations across the Mid-South. He led three business units, as well as firmwide marketing strategy.

Formerly, Walton was an investment banker with Banc of America Securities. Based in the New York Financial Sponsor Group, he worked on leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations for top tier private equity clients across a range of industries. Walton began his career with the international law firm of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Working in both London and New York, his practice focused on leveraged acquisition finance and corporate matters.

Walton holds an MBA with distinction from Columbia Business School, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The College of Law, London, and an MA (Hons) in Economics & Law from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.
